Update on H1N1 Vaccine Recalls (2/2/2010)

The manufacturers of three forms of H1N1 vaccine have issued voluntary non-safety recalls related to a slight decrease in potency of the vaccine. The forms of vaccine affected include the nasal H1N1 vaccine (FluMist) and the pediatric and adult preservative-free injectable vaccines.

INDIVIDUALS WHO RECEIVED VACCINE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED DO NOT NEED TO BE RE-VACCINATED.
SEASONAL FLU VACCINE HAS NOT BEEN AFFECTED BY THESE RECALLS.
CapitalCare sites have been instructed not to administer any vaccine that has been affected by the recall and to return it to the manufacturer.
